Hi kids.

Clear your calendars this July 10 and head down to Charleston, SC for one of the hippest shows you'll ever attend.

A Syracuse band, composed of some friends of mine, is touring this summer (Just back from UK and now making stateside rounds). You should be where they are.

They are The Martha Dumptruck Massacre.
They are one of the most original, inspiring, witty, and dazzling bands you will ever encounter.
Should you have other plans for July 10, you will regret it.

Give them an audience. Tell Joel I sent you.

Be sure to bring your dancing shoes.

The fever is now settled at 100.4.
It's been back and forth between 99.8 and 101 all day.

I need to not be sick any more.

My friends and I decided we didn't care too much for football.

So we went to Canada.

I talked about wireless networks, GAIA, and rocks with my geologist today.
He associates himself on the "mad" end of the scientist spectrum.
I told him that Carter trades turtles on the black market.

We had nearly four conversations today. And countless awkward moments of eye contact.

We broke freezing! The icicles are dripping. The snow is shrinking. It's 33F and sandal weather!

Last night, we went to an incredible show.
Read: Ben Lee and Ben Folds.

After that, we fraternized with some friends and made a new one!

Two parties (of very different natures) followed suite.
I met a a guy named Clark (Kent) who wears duckies, has skinny white legs, and will be my friend some day.

Everyone should be as awesome as my girls.
Then, life would be so much cooler.

PB:Is that a true story? JP: Yes. PB:It really.... (loss of words)... you sparked my interest! [27 Jan 2005|05:41pm]

Today had the potential to be a bad day.
It was, however, completely the contrary.

The Life Aquatic has recently ascended to the upper stratosphere of my favorite movies. And Soundtracks.

I'm still getting mileage out of bird shit. And what great miles...

My geology book still hasn't gotten in at the bookstore. Yes to readings I'm not responsible for!

I feel good about being here, what I'm doing.
I'd been worried-- afraid I didn't quite fit with the rest of the kids in the chairs around me. But then again I never have. I started wondering about It. But I thinks It is still around-- funny smiles and curious eyes from people that know what they're doing are always a good sign.

The sky is a perfect blend from night to tangerine.
I get the best sunsets from my window.

It's a mean cold world out there... so bundle up and take a bat! [23 Jan 2005|05:17pm]
And Elizabeth was here and it was good!

I became great friends with two traveling men: Tim and "Just Joan." They are actors that aren't acting, but instead are currently traveling around the country from campus to campus selling posters.

It's a blizzard out there! )

I am now at work at the geology library.
To get to work, I had to walk.
I wad to walk uphill in the snow in sub-zero temparatures.
Mostly, the snow was somewhere between calf and knee height. There were places where the snow was at my hip. Others, yet, at my waist! And I'm pretty tall!
To get home, I will walk uphill in the snow in sub-zero temparatures in the dark.

How, you may ask can I walk uphill BOTH directions?
Syracuse has frozen over.
If Syracuse was Hell, Hell would have frozen over.
and if Hell has frozen over, wouldn't anything be possible?

[Hell (Syracuse) is very hilly.]

I love Syracuse!
